This is what a fully equipped Jeep Wrangler costs

The fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler has been around since 2018 and was recently slightly redesigned. It is excellent off-road capable and offers customers countless customization options, including five engine options and eight unique trim levels. The top-of-the-line Rubicon 392 Final Edition model features a 470-hp 6.4-liter V8, making it the most powerful production Wrangler ever.

Jeep planned to build just 3,700 examples of the Final Edition version, but it looks like the mighty V8 will live on until 2025. We tested one to the max to see how much a fully loaded version of Jeep’s most expensive and powerful Wrangler costs.

Prices quoted here were taken directly from the Jeep website. Sales tax and interest rate estimates can be found on the Jeep Vehicle Finance page and on Calculator.net.

How much does a Jeep Wrangler 392 (model year 2024) initially cost you?

Rubicon 4-door

53,190 USD

Rubicon X 4-door

63,190 USD

Rubicon 392

93,440 USD

Rubicon 392 – Definitive Edition

101,890 USD

The “base” Rubicon 392 is already a very well-equipped model. It costs $93,440 including delivery costs, which is over $30,000 more than the Rubicon X. Standard features include Nappa leather seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a heavy-duty full-swing rear axle, and 35-inch tires. While the tires and touchscreen are also standard on the Rubicon X, you don’t get a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter V8.

That accounts for most of the price increase and gives the Rubicon 392 a very different character from the rest of the range. With 470 horsepower, it can do the 0-60 mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. Considering how the Wrangler handles on the road, that’s scary in more ways than one.

Best Jeep Wrangler Model Years

Reliability hasn’t always been a Wrangler strong point, but some model years are better than others.

For those who want more exclusivity, the Rubicon 392 Final Edition offers some unique features and optional equipment such as a Warn winch and a body-colored three-piece hardtop. Both Rubicon 392 models are only available in four-door body styles. For reference, the Sport trim is the most affordable way to own a four-door Wrangler. All prices listed below are for base trims and include delivery charges.

The Rubicon trim is designed to give the Wrangler even more off-road capability. While some of the following features are common to all Rubicon trims, the big V8 and luxurious Nappa leather upholstery are reserved for the top Rubicon 392 models. Here are some of the features that come standard on the Rubicon 392 trim:

  • 470 hp, 6.4 litre V8
  • Bonnet with air intake scoop
  • 35-inch tires with 17-inch rims
  • 3rd generation high performance Dana 44 front axle
  • Dana M220 wide floating rear axle
  • Nappa leather seats
  • 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat

Drag Race: Jeep Wrangler 392 vs. Ford Bronco Raptor

We were very excited to see this…

Rubicon 392 – Definitive Edition

The Rubicon 392 Final Edition costs an extra $8,450. This is what you get in addition to the regular Rubicon 392:

  • Warn winch with a pulling force of 8,000 pounds
  • Nappa leather seats with gold accents and special 392 Final Edition emblems
  • Mopar Rock Slider and Swing Gate
  • Increase suspension height by half an inch
  • Final Edition Body Decals
  • Limited to 3,700 copies worldwide (see below)

Some early adopters surely paid to know that only 3,700 Final Edition models would be built, 3,300 of which were destined for the U.S. However, Jeep has now announced that the Final Edition trim will continue through 2025. At the time of writing, no planned production numbers have been announced for this “last” Final Edition, but offering this trim for another year would certainly dilute its exclusivity. Either way, the Rubicon 392 Final Edition is already packed with equipment, but there are still a handful of optional extras you can choose from. Let’s see what a fully loaded model looks like.

This is how much a Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition 2024 costs with all options

Once you’ve paid for the Jeep Wrangler 392 Rubicon Final Edition, it’s time to personalize it with some options to choose from. The standard spec sheet is long, leaving us with mostly paint, roof, and trim upgrades.

Color selection

There are eight exterior colors to choose from. Bright White clearcoat is the only free offering, while the limited edition Tuscadero pearl paint costs $895. All other paint colors cost $595.

Accesories

  • Mopar Doors-Off Mirror Kit – $195
  • Mopar Satin Black Performance Grille, $325
  • Mopar Windshield Fastener Tape, $40
  • Soft top window storage bag $75

Strengthen

  • Mopar mesh sunbonnet top, $195
  • Mopar Solid Sunbonnet Top, $295
  • Sunrider for hardtop by Mopar, $945
  • Dual Top Group $2,495
  • Sky One-Touch Power Top $3,995

We greedily checked off every possible option and opted for the Tuscadero paint and Sky One-Touch power top to push the base price as high as possible. This added $5,450 to the $99,995 base price. A $1,895 delivery fee brings the total to 107,340 USD. This means that the Wrangler belongs to a completely different SUV class.

But that’s not all, folks, as they say. Before you can get behind the wheel, you still have to consider registration costs, taxes, and interest and finance charges.

Cars similar to the Jeep Wrangler: Alternatives to an off-road icon

The Jeep Wrangler is considered the benchmark among short-wheelbase 4×4 models in North America, but there have been many equivalent alternatives over the decades.

Is a fully equipped 2024 Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition worth the price?

2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392

Paying $132,602 for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition with 5-year financing seems like a lot of money. And it is. If you want to buy one of the world’s toughest, most capable off-road vehicles, the Willys or base trims of the Rubicon are a more affordable option.

A well-equipped 4-door Willys can be had for under $50,000. The 3.6-liter V6 is powerful enough for most off-road tasks, and even if you add the $1,395 Safety Group and $1,995 Convenience Group to your build, the total cost with delivery charges is $49,280.

Off-road comparison: Ford Bronco Raptor vs. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392

This is going to be chaotic.

If you want the top-of-the-line model just to get the 470-hp 6.4-liter V8, the Rubicon 392 might be a better choice. Aside from the Warn winch, it has nearly the same equipment. The total cost, including delivery charges, is $93,440. That’s a pretty hefty savings of $13,900 over the fully-equipped Rubicon 392 Final Edition.

Exclusivity is the only real reason anyone would pay such an exorbitant sum for a fully-equipped Wrangler. Stellantis’ recent announcement that it will offer this model again in 2025 clouds the limited 3,700-unit production run, even if the Mopar triple grille guard and 83-piece toolkit won’t be offered on the 2025 models. There’s no doubt that the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is a desirable and extremely capable car. Still, it just doesn’t make sense compared to some of its stablemates, not to mention more sophisticated rivals like the Land Rover Defender V8 and Ford Bronco Raptor.
