People also announced that the couple’s organization, the Archewell Foundation, will make three contributions to support the country: a new drum kit for the Escuela Tambores de Cabildo in Cartagena, a donation to San Basilio de Palenque to provide safe education for local children, and support for the expansion of the socioemotional sports program at Colegio La Giralda.

That Markle can move well is no surprise, as the former actress is no stranger to performing. Earlier this week, a college classmate of hers shared a throwback photo from her days as a salsa dancer. Iris Amador posted a snapshot featuring Markle and three other classmates from a salsa class at Northwestern University, where Markle graduated in 2003 with degrees in theater and international studies.

“Salsa lessons with the then future #DuchessOfSussex, in college,” Amador wrote alongside the photo.

Over the weekend, Markle also spoke on a panel at Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voices of Equity, where she thanked Márquez and the country for their hospitality. “The culture, the history – all of it – was a dream,” she said. “This trip was a dream. I can feel this community, and that’s the feeling that’s the best right now.”
