Emporia State Volleyball ranks ninth in the MIAA coaches’ preseason poll

August 23, 2024 – Emporia State was ranked ninth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll ahead of the 2024 season.

Each of the top four teams received one first-place vote, with Central Missouri receiving five votes and finishing first with 113 points. Central Oklahoma and Nebraska-Kearney each received three first-place votes and had 110 and 106 points, respectively. Washburn rounded out the top four with 90 points and one first-place vote.

The Hornets start the 2024 season with nine new additions to the squad and important returnees Brailee Bogle, McKenya Sorrels And Camilla Ossola who each played 80 or more sets in the 2023 season.

Emporia State’s season begins September 5-7 with a trip to Kansas City for the Kansas City Classic. The Hornets’ first home game is October 4 against Pittsburg State at White Auditorium.
