The War Hawks and athletic director Erik Maas have announced that Auburn University in Montgomery plans to add women’s golf to its program in 2025.

“We are very excited to add women’s golf to our athletic department at AUM,” said Dr. Carl Stockton, Chancellor of Auburn University in Montgomery. “We are excited to provide additional opportunities for female athletes to compete as Warhawks and pursue their educational goals at AUM. We know the rich tradition of women’s golf in the Gulf South Conference and look forward to competing against some of the best golfers in Division II.”

“Montgomery and the River Region are such great golf communities that we are in a perfect location to build a thriving DII women’s golf program,” Maas said. “With the incredible growth of women’s golf over the past few years, both regionally and nationally, now is an excellent time to expand our department and give more young women the opportunity to have an excellent collegiate and athletic experience. I want to thank Dr. Stockton for his vision and support in making AUM women’s golf a reality.

The team will compete in the Gulf South Conference and will be the ninth women’s golf team added to the Gulf South.
