A South Florida man who allegedly sent inappropriate messages to a 16-year-old girl and attempted to meet her has been arrested on multiple charges. Authorities said there may be more victims.

Roman Gomez, 59, was arrested Thursday on charges including using a computer to entice, solicit or lure a child, transmitting information harmful to a minor and obscene communication. Palm Beach County jail records show he had traveled to a meeting after using a computer to lure a child.

According to a police report, the 16-year-old had been exchanging messages for months with Gomez, a married father who knows her family.

Some of the messages were exchanged via Facebook Messenger, others were sent via WhatsApp.

“You should definitely be a model. You might have to send me the pictures so I can proofread them first (winking emoji). You would be amazing in it, you are beautiful,” Gomez wrote in a message. “You definitely have a bikini body and a killer one at that, just say no. Oh I would get in so much trouble if your mom and dad read our messages.”

At one point, Gomez sent the girl a video of himself masturbating via WhatsApp with the caption, “I want you to touch me,” the report said.

On Tuesday, the girl and her mother met with authorities, and an investigator posing as the teenager began exchanging messages with Gomez, which he then deleted after reading them, the report said.

“Things are getting heated, don’t let them cool down. You’ve never told me about any of your fantasies, what turns you on, what you want to try,” Gomez said in one of the messages, according to the report.

The two discussed meeting for sexual acts, and on Wednesday Gomez asked the teenager to meet him at a McDonald’s in Lake Worth and then follow him to his townhouse, the report said.

On Thursday, he drove to McDonald’s, where detectives contacted him and took him into custody before taking him to jail.

Officials with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said investigators believe there may be more victims.
