Last sunset after 8pm: What to expect in Seattle

As fall approaches, there will be no more sunsets after 8 p.m. Monday, August 26, will be the last day the sun sets after 8 p.m. for the rest of the year, according to timeanddate.com.

The weather continues to give a hint of what to expect this fall, but according to FOX 13’s Nikki Torres, Seattle is forecast to have sunshine until the last sunset after 8 p.m., and Monday is expected to be the hottest day of the week.

The first 8 p.m. sunset in Western Washington occurred on April 15. The longest day of the year was June 21. On that day, Western Washington had 16 hours of daylight.

The shortest day of the year (also known as the winter solstice) will be December 21, 2024. In Seattle, sunlight is expected to last just over eight hours.
