Household budgets are under pressure as children across Michigan prepare to go back to school. Between school supplies, lunches, extracurricular activities and health care, what is the real Cost of raising a child here in Michigan?

I mean, can you put a price on time and mental health?

As a childless person, I will be sleeping soundly on the first day of school while families rush to get out the door and into the hellish line. Seriously, you couldn’t pay It is enough for me to take my children to and from school.

But what about the actual costs? What is the average cost of raising a child in The Mitten compared to the rest of the country?

Not surprisingly, lending company Lending Tree has found that the cost of raising a child is increasing, almost 20% collected between 2016 and 2021. The study found that families at the national level are expected to $237,482 raising a child over 18 years of age.

There is so much that goes into providing even the bare necessities for this little person, (unfortunately) the things you need are not getting cheaper these days

The study analyzed key factors such as rent, Eat, Childcare costs, Health insurance premiumsin addition to transport and state Tax exemptions and credits to determine: It costs Michigan families about $174,440 to provide basic necessities for a child for 18 years.

Again, these are just the main points. What about College Application Fees, extracurricular activities such as travel sportsand the costs for Driver training?

Just typing all that hurt my wallet.
