Although Nick Saban no longer coaches the Alabama football team, he and Miss Terry are still a notable presence in the world of college football.
Ahead of Week 0 of college football, Saban and Miss Terry appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” in Dublin, where the main game between No. 10 Florida State and Georgia Tech takes place on Saturday.
To celebrate the start of the season – and the international appeal of college football’s unofficial opening weekend – Miss Terry and McAfee performed an Irish jig at JR Mahon’s Pub, where the live show took place Friday.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t announce that Miss Terry is here,” McAfee said on the show before cheering on the show’s members. The duo then began dancing as live music accompanied the joyous moment.
“She’s the love of my life and has always made me better at everything we do,” Saban said on the show. “And we’re talking about science camp in seventh grade, that’s where we met, we went to different schools. It’s not just the 52 years we’ve been married, but several years before that.”
“She can dance, I have to say. She can dance to it. It’s one of the few things we could do growing up. We’d get the fire trucks out of the firehouse, put the record player in and dance on Friday nights.”
Saban, of course, is in Dublin with ESPN’s “College GameDay.” He is in his first season on the show after appearing as the Crimson Tide’s football coach. The 72-year-old, who retired shortly after the 2023 college football season, won seven national championships in his career, including six with Alabama.
Saban and the Crimson Tide lost to eventual champion Michigan in overtime in the College Football Playoff semifinals at the Rose Bowl last season. After Saban’s retirement, Alabama replaced him with Kalen DeBoer, whose Washington team lost to Michigan in the final.
