The DNC ended last night

August 23 – Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris delivered a speech last night at the Democratic National Convention, concluding the four-day event in Chicago.

Let’s dive deeper into the speech.

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM said: “There was no politics. It was just finger-pointing and saying: Day one. And I can’t help but think, if you’re an intellectually honest Democrat, you saw right before your eyes what’s still to come after three years and changes here from the Biden administration.”

Attorney Clint Barkdoll pointed out, “It was a short speech, and that’s not surprising because, as I said, there were no policies laid out in the speech. Harris spoke for about 35 minutes. In comparison, Trump’s speech at the convention was over an hour and a half. The sweet spot, by the way, is probably somewhere in the middle. He spoke too long. She spoke too briefly, but she’ll get a little boost from this convention. I mean, despite the lack of policy statements, the convention was well organized. There were no major disruptions that some had feared because of the Palestine issue and the protesters. I thought her speech last night was interesting, up to this point she tends to be hard on the edge, supportive of Israel and tough on crime, things that she knows are weaknesses. No doubt she’ll be advised to lean heavily on those things.”

Both the DNC and the RNC were equally well received.

Barkdoll continued, “I thought the Republican convention was very well organized and very well executed. I think the Democrats did the same thing this week. She’ll gain a point or two in the polls, but now the campaign is really starting.”

The first debate between Harris and Donald Trump will air on ABC in September.

Ryan added: “And the blatant lies that came to light last night. Take just one, for example, because they’re spending the whole week on this 2025 project.”

Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware said, “He said the quiet parts out loud with his friends. But he didn’t just say them out loud, he wrote a book about it. What’s it called? Project 2025.”

A CNN fact-checker said: “That’s false. Trump did not write Project 2025. The project’s major policy paper, published by the Heritage Foundation think tank, lists dozens of people as authors, editors and contributors. Donald Trump is not among them.”

Barkdoll said, “Remember, Trump has publicly condemned this book and this project. J.D. Vance wrote the foreword to this book, which came out before he was nominated for vice president. Trump and Vance have both made it very clear that they do not support the things laid out in this book, but the Democrats keep bringing this up. They obviously see this as a campaign issue, because there are some things in this book that are completely off the mark. But I keep coming back to the point, this is not unusual, the Heritage Foundation, just as there are groups on the left, regularly publishes a book or a major policy recommendation for an incoming administration. The administration, the candidate, they can support it, distance themselves from it, adopt some parts, leave out other parts. But the Democrats keep painting the picture as if this is Trump’s plan, and he has said nothing other than, no, I have nothing to do with this, and I do not support the things they recommend.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM noted: “I wish he wouldn’t say that in a blanket way, because there’s a lot of great stuff in Project 2025. They portray it as if it’s an evil document whose principles only a dictator would follow. No. It’s a lot of activists on the right who have contributed to a number of potential policies that they agree with. Of course, there will be some in there that most people might not agree with, just as there are the same documents written by people on the left when someone from the Democratic side comes to power. But let me point to one document that is being followed very closely by the Biden administration. It was followed for eight years by the Obama administration and definitely very sharply refined by the Biden administration. It’s called the Sustainable Development Goals. Previous names for it were Agenda 2021 and Agenda 2030, but the Sustainable Development Goals were written by none other than the United Nations and are a blueprint for globalists and the way they want to see the world, including very extreme issues of climate change, very extreme issues of wealth redistribution, it’s about equity, it’s about DEI, and the Biden administration has largely followed that plan, and it’s now included in their policies. We live under it. No, we’re not going to talk about that. We’re just going to talk about there’s this other set of policy potentials that were written by activists and not by Trump, and he might adopt some of that, maybe we adopt the other, but we ignore the plan that we live under. I suggest people go to Wikipedia, look up the Sustainable Development Goals, go all the way to ethics, where they say, oh, the one big obstacle to what we really want to do with our plan is the individual rights and freedoms that citizens of the United States have. That’s a huge obstacle to their plan. No, we never talk about that.”

Barkdoll added, “On virtually any major issue in government, there are always interest groups lobbying or giving the president their opinion on what should happen, and whether it’s the Heritage Foundation or more progressive liberal groups on the left, they all have these publications and think tank groups that give the president a blueprint of what they think should happen. The president may completely reject that. Maybe they take out some things that they think are a good idea. So I’m not sure why so many out there think this idea of Project 2025 is so outrageous and bizarre. This has been happening in America for decades. These groups always put forward what they would like to see as an agenda for a new administration.”
