Lady Gaga shows her little monsters her love by continuing to support her new duet with Bruno Mars!

On Thursday, August 22, the 13-time Grammy winner shared a message to her fans thanking them for their support, nearly a week after she and Mars released their ballad “Die with a Smile.”

“Seeing fans from all over the world celebrate this music has meant so much to me. Seeing the words of the song touch your heart and the video evoke this huge wave of dancing and fun is beautiful to watch and I am so grateful,” Gaga, 38, wrote on Instagram.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for loving our song, I really do love you and I hope the message of love we shared will continue to create special moments for all of you in your lives – I know it does in mine every day,” she added. “The power of music is great and your love for this song has reminded me of that.”

In addition to the touching caption, the “Bad Romance” singer treated her listeners to some behind-the-scenes snaps showing her in a plaid suit, cheetah print, and with her hair up – from the couple’s recent live debut of the song.

On August 16, the artists released their duet and accompanying video, which features 38-year-old Mars on guitar and Gaga sitting at the piano with a cigarette in her mouth. For the video, the two wore matching jeans and red ensembles, as the song itself is reminiscent of Mars’ 2021 Silk Sonic effort, with production from D’Mile (“Leave the Door Open”) and additional songwriting from James Fauntleroy.

Gaga herself previewed “Die with a Smile” a day earlier by posting a snapshot wearing a Bruno Mars T-shirt. The pair later surprised Mars’ audience at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles for the collaboration’s live debut.

During the show, Mars referred to Gaga as “pop queens” as they performed in front of an audience that included Angela Bassett, Simu Liu, Sophia Bush, Meghan Trainor, Kelsea Ballerini, Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough.

“Bruno and I have a lot of mutual respect and have talked about collaborating,” Gaga said in a statement about the song’s release. “I was finishing up my own album in Malibu and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to listen to something he was working on.”

“It was about midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started doing,” she added. “We stayed up all night finishing writing and recording the song. Bruno’s talent is indescribable. His musicianship and vision are on a whole new level. There is no one like him.”

Mars added that working with Gaga, who also had chart success in the late 2000s, was an “honor” for him. “She is an icon and makes this song magical. I’m so happy that everyone can hear it,” Mars said in his own statement at the time.
