Stephen Nedoroscik shows off his breakdancing skills before “DWTS”

From the pommel horse to the dance floor! Stephen Nedoroscikaka Pommel Horse Guy, has officially joined the cast of “Dancing With The Stars.”

The bespectacled 25-year-old won over fans when he came out of his seemingly quiet shell to win a bronze medal, giving Team USA its first podium finish in the men’s team finals since 2008. Nedoroscik also took bronze in the individual pommel horse event, with many praising his calm, composed demeanor and comparing him to the real-life Clark Kent.

“I want to do some gymnastics – maybe a backflip or a handstand. I want to have fun doing it,” he said on the ABC morning talk show.

When asked if he would wear his glasses while dancing, Nedoroscik jokingly replied, “I might enjoy that – I’m afraid they’ll fly off… maybe we could make a gadget and keep them on. Maybe a new pair of glasses, to match the theme, right?”

Which dance suits the pommel horse type best?

Backstage at “Good Morning America,” Nedoroscik was asked if he could give fans a preview of his dance moves before practice. He kept everyone on their toes by replying, “Later on the show.”

The 25-year-old kept his word and later wowed the audience with some breakdance moves that were clearly inspired by his skills on the pommel horse.

“Gymnasts (meet) breakdancing (meet) ballroom dancing,” was the caption of the video on the official Instagram page of “GMA” that amazed fans.

Fans are excited that the guy with the pommel horse will be on “DWTS”

As expected, social media went wild after GMA announced the news, with thousands of comments pouring in. “Sure!!!!!! We’re representing men’s gymnastics!” one Instagram user put it, while a second wrote, “Our prayers have been answered! Super Steve is taking over the dance floor!!”

“He’s adorable! I’m so excited about it!” shouted a third, while a fourth said, “Here we go!! The best!! Clark Kent is coming!!!!!”

Other users expressed their feelings with comments like, “He’s awesome! I can’t wait to see him lift weights!” and “Oh my god, this is sooo exciting!”

Hundreds of others began to guess who his partner would be – and almost all of them hoped it would be Rylee Arnold.

The real Clark Kent suffers from coloboma

Nedoroscik not only became famous for his skills on the pommel horse; his distinctive glasses have also drawn attention to coloboma, a rare condition in which part of the eye tissue is missing.

After gaining attention on social media and news channels, the Olympian sat down and talked about what it’s like to be a role model and raise awareness for people with eye conditions. “It’s great to be in this position and I’ve definitely had a lot of problems with my eyesight,” he said GQ“For example, when I’m outside with my coloboma, I’m hypersensitive to sunlight, so I really can’t see anything.”

“And also, because of my strabismus, I have no depth perception, which makes it really hard to be good at sports,” he added. “But luckily, I chose gymnastics quite by accident, even though it was the sport that was literally made for me and my eyesight. And to all the kids out there who also wear glasses, I hope they can see my story and understand that something that’s holding you back doesn’t mean you can’t still do it.”

When does “Dancing With The Stars” air?

The 33rd season of “Dancing With the Stars” premieres on Tuesday, September 17, on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available on Hulu the following day. Julianne Hough And Alfonso Ribeiro will host the show again and Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno TonioliAnd Derek Hough will return to the judges’ table.
