IICRC calls for revision of several standards

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is seeking volunteers to serve on consensus committees for the development of two revised standards: IICRC S100 Standard for the Professional Cleaning of Textile Floor Coverings and IICRC S220 Standard for the Inspection of Hard Surface Floor Coverings.

Anyone interested in participating in the consensus bodies IICRC S100 or IICRC S220 should consider the following:

• The IICRC S100 standard for the professional cleaning of textile floor coverings describes the procedures, methods and systems to be followed for the professional maintenance and cleaning of textile floor coverings (e.g. carpets and rugs) in commercial and domestic areas.

• IICRC seeks volunteers for this standard from professional cleaners, carpet manufacturers, importers, retailers, distributors, architects, engineers, designers, industrial suppliers, planners, property managers, installers, homeowners, facility managers, facility service providers, insurance companies, leasing or rental agencies, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), government institutions and others involved in the textile flooring industry.

• Those interested in applying to serve on the S100 Consensus Body can find more information at https://iicrc.org/s100/ and complete the online application form.

• The IICRC S220 Hard Flooring Inspection Standard describes the non-destructive procedures, methods and systems that professional inspectors must follow when inspecting lightweight hard flooring materials in commercial and residential applications, including stone, laminate, engineered wood, ceramic and resilient flooring.

• IICRC seeks volunteers for this standard from professional inspectors, flooring manufacturers, product suppliers, contractors, architects, specifiers, designers, distributors, flooring dealers, end users, facility managers, institutions and others involved in the hard flooring industry.
