It’s been a while since we saw the latest episode of one of the world’s most popular car shows: The Grand Tour. Season 5, Episode 3 aired on February 16, 2024 and features the journey to Western Sahara in three used exotic open-top GTs.

Jeremy Clarkson chose a Jaguar F-Type, Richard Hammond an Aston Martin DB9 Volante and James May a Maserati GranCabrio. The three started in Mauritania and travelled to the west coast of Senegal to recreate the final stage of the Paris-Dakar Rally.

It was an exciting road trip, of course, but some have felt the co-hosts had lost their zest over the years. And indeed, they’re not the only ones who think so, as Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are splitting up. The latest teaser for the upcoming episode of The Grand Tour has just gone live, and as far as we know, it will be their last car show-related adventure together.

The teaser clip is just over a minute long and shows some action from the latest episode. It reveals that “After 22 years it is finally over.” Clarkson is the only one speaking in the footage embedded at the bottom of the page, saying: “So, for the last time… Let’s go!” The episode is called “One for the road,” and it likely represents the end of an era and perhaps the beginning of a new one, although we will have to wait and see if the latter is just a rumor.

You might want to tune in to Amazon Prime Video to watch the supposedly final episode of The Grand Tour on September 13th, because “Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May go on their last tour together after 8 years.” For most car enthusiasts it will be a sad day when the famous show with the famous co-hosts airs for the last time in three weeks, but as one famous person once said: “Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened.

As mentioned above, the teaser we’ve embedded below is just over a minute long. Along with the usual laughs from the three, it also offers a look at the old cars they drove in a desert during this episode. So, since it’s just a small taste of what’s going to happen on September 13, it’s not the perfect excuse to take a quick break and open a bag of chips while watching. In fact, you might end up sad after watching the clip, as it’s quite tear-jerking.

With that in mind, we wish the three of them and their extended teams all the best and thank them for the 22 years they have entertained us so well. All the best, guys!
