AFROPUNK 2024: How to secure last-minute tickets

AFROPUNK returns to Brooklyn. This year’s headliner is neo-soul icon Erykah Badu.

The two-day festival, titled AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA Brooklyn, will take place August 23-24 at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park. Two-day tickets for AFROPUNK are available through Stubhub and Ticketmaster. Single-day tickets for Friday and Saturday are also available through Ticketmaster.

All tickets for this year’s AFROPUNK festival are general admission. This move, says AFROUNK, “ensures that everyone can experience the festival’s unique blend of music, art and culture without barriers.”

Badu’s presence at this year’s festival marks a homecoming for AFROPUNK – she last graced the AFROPUNK stage in 2018.

“Their return is eagerly awaited as AFROPUNK celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025,” the festival’s website said.

“When we thought about who would be the Mother Earth of our festival, we knew it could be none other than Erykah Badu,” said Shauna Gray, Afropunk’s global head of business development, in an interview with Gothamist.

This year the festival is collaborating with BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn, New York City’s longest-running free outdoor performing arts festival.

Every year AFROPUNK has a specific theme. This year’s festival theme is “A celebration of the future of Black life, creativity, community and expression in a new form.”
