Karen E. LaineThe recent renovation of the house has taken an unexpected turn after the HGTV star fell through the floor! While Good bones In season 9, episode 2, which aired on August 21, 2024, the reality star and her team ripped out the rotting floors in their Wilmington, North Carolina project. However, Laine claimed she was perfectly fine and joked that Its “soft part” cushioned the fall.

Renovating this home is Laine’s most ambitious project yet. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom property was in pretty bad shape when the reality star bought it, and her fall made things even worse. After the fall, Laine realized that The floor of the house had to be replaced together with its entire foundation.


The DIY expert also admitted that the renovation cost more money than she had originally thought. But despite the difficulty of the project, Lainedoes not want to sell the house and thus “close” the matter. “I will never give up on my dream,” the reality star added.


Laine is bringing out the big guns for this big “Good Bones” project

During a confessional on the same episode, Karen E. Laine shared that the house needs to be lifted because it needs a brand new, continuous foundation around the property. The home renovator lifted the entire house with a jack in a nerve-wracking moment. Her team watched with bated breath as the beams shook and made unsettling noises. Fortunately, Laine was able to jump out of the way before anything bad could happen.


In the episode, Laine is also seen on her trip to Indiana to be with her daughter. Kelsy Spaethwho was pregnant at the time of filming. During her visit, Laine met with Good bones alumMJ Coyle to get the expert’s advice on the design of her Wilmington home. Laine confessed that while she designed the house herself, She wanted Coyle to act as a filter and capture her crazy ideas. At the end of the episode, Coyle also shows up to observe the progress on the house.

Not only that, she wanted to bring her vision to life! Laine also met with a local muralist in Wilmington to plan a mural for the new property. The home renovator shared how She wanted the place to feel “bold and colorful.” which is why she wanted the mural to cover the entire back fence of the house.
