The Arizona football team is ranked 21st in the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll and is well ahead of them at No. 56 in the 247Sports Team Talent Composite Rankings. Arizona fell precipitously from No. 43 in the 2023 247Sports Team Talent Composite Rankings.

Arizona is ranked fourth in the Big XII preseason poll behind Utah, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Kansas. The Wildcats received five first-place votes. Arizona is poised for another season of accomplishing more than their talent rankings suggest. The Wildcats are not the blue bloods in football that they are in basketball.

Arizona has one player on its roster who was a five-star in high school and nine four-star players. The Team Talent Composite rankings are based solely on players’ ratings as high school players. Linebacker Justin Flowe, who originally signed with Oregon, is the only five-star player on Arizona’s roster.

Cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew and running back Kedrick Reescano were four-star recruits coming out of high school who began their careers at other schools. Groves-Killebrew signed with Texas A&M in 2022 and Reescano signed with Mississippi in 2023. Arizona signed in the class that ranks No. 84 overall in the 247Sports rankings.

Arizona’s 2024 transfer class ranked 37th. Arizona’s trade from Jedd Fisch to Brent Brennan cost the Wildcats 2024 and directly led to 10 of the 28 departures now in Washington. Brennan was able to convince six Wildcats to withdraw from the transfer portal and return to Arizona.

Brennan has already improved over the 2024 class. Arizona’s 2025 class is currently ranked 49th overall by 247Sports. The Wildcats are still looking for their first blue chip commit for 2025. This season will be crucial for Arizona to move up the recruiting rankings and the Team Talent Composite beyond the 2024 season.
