The 25-year-old from Worcester, Massachusetts, will be the first male gymnast in the show’s history to compete for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

He told Good morning America He plans to incorporate some of his athletic moves into his dance routine,

“I want to do some gymnastics – maybe a backflip or a handstand. I want to have fun doing it,” he said.

Stephen, who is known to wear glasses and is affectionately called Clark Kent during the Olympics, said he was a little nervous about the glasses.

“Maybe I’ll enjoy it – I’m afraid they’ll fly away… maybe we could make a gadget to keep them on. Maybe a new pair of glasses to go with the theme, right?”
