What are the current Solheim Cup standings for Team USA and Team Europe?
The Solheim-Cup is a biennial transatlantic team match play golf competition involving the 12 best European players from the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the 12 best US players of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.
The biennial event has become the most coveted trophy in women’s professional golf’s team competition. Some of the sport’s most memorable moments have occurred at past Solheim Cups, and spots on the European and U.S. teams are highly coveted by players in both organizations. The Solheim Cup is named in honor of Karsten and Louise Solheim, founders of the Karsten Manufacturing Corporation, which makes PING golf equipment.
The first Solheim Cup took place in 1990, and the last Solheim Cup in 2021 took place from September 4-6 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. The European team secured a second victory on American soil with a 15-13 win over the American team.
The last outing (2023) saw Europe defended the Solheim Cup after a 14-14 draw with the Americans at Finca Cortesin in Andalusia, Spain. 2024 will be the first edition of the competition since the switch to even years.
