Lady Gaga thanks her fans for the strong response to “Die With A Smile,” her romantic duet with Bruno Mars and her first single in two years.

“Seeing fans from all over the world celebrate this music has meant so much to me. Seeing the words of the song touch your heart and the video evoke this huge wave of dancing and fun is beautiful to watch and I am so grateful,” Gaga wrote on social media on Thursday.

The artists debuted their duet last week at the first-ever event at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and released “Die With A Smile” after teasing the track for days.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for loving our song. I truly love you and I hope the message of love we shared will continue to create special moments for all of you in your lives – I know it does in mine every day. The power of music is great and your love for this song has reminded me of that.”

“Die With A Smile” has been growing in popularity since its release last week and is now a strong contender for a top 10 entry on Billboard’s Hot 100. Chart next week. As Billboard noted, the song’s first-day performance was more modest, but streams have steadily increased this week, increasing 34 percent from Sunday to Monday alone.

Gaga’s single comes as she prepares for the release of Joker: Foil A Deuxwhere she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn, the Clown Prince of Crime’s lover in many Batman comics, television series, and films. Given the song’s title, fans have speculated if “Die With A Smile” is related to the upcoming film.
