Eagles could sign five-time All-Pro to add interesting offensive talent

The Philadelphia Eagles will be good in 2024.

With a roster as talented as the one they have, it would be difficult for them not to be great. Philadelphia is in a fantastic position as the 2024 National Football League season is just weeks away and should be significantly better than 2023.

Philadelphia had a great offseason revamping its roster and is obviously looking for ways to continue to help. The Eagles have been busy lately, acquiring former first-round draft pick Jahan Dotson in a trade with the Washington Commanders on Thursday to get a needed third receiver.

The Eagles shouldn’t be done adding players just yet. There are still some great options on the free agent market that could help. Philadelphia will clearly be a run-heavy team in 2024 and already has a great offensive line, but there could be a diamond in the rough available right now.

Former Green Bay Packers star offensive tackle David Bakhtiari has struggled with injuries over the past few seasons and is now available on the open market looking for a new team. Bakhtiari has only appeared in 13 games over the past three seasons, but now appears to be healthy again and able to help a team.

When healthy, he was one of the best linemen in football. He was an All-Pro for five consecutive seasons from 2016 to 2020 before injuries struck.

At this point, the Eagles could probably sign him cheap as he looks to rebuild his value. A team can never have too much capable offensive power, and Bakhtiari may be one of the best in football. Why not give him a chance on a prove-it contract?
