Pharr, Texas – The City of Pharr proudly hosted the Deep South Texas State of Water Symposium, a major event organized by Chairman and State Representative Terry Canales, with support from Vice Finance Chairman Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa and the Texas Water Foundation. This pivotal event brought together key leaders and experts from across the region and state to discuss the pressing water issues facing the Rio Grande Valley.

Water management has become a critical issue impacting the economy, public health and future growth of the region. This symposium served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss water conservation strategies and sustainable initiatives that will ensure a resilient future for the valley.

“Water is a fluid issue, no pun intended. It moves fast and it moves fast and we’re running out of it fast. That’s why it’s important to have all of these people at the table as we look for long-term solutions for the future,” said Chairman Canales.
