After missing a total of 106 games due to injury over the past two seasons, LaMelo Ball is taking action.

Charlotte Hornets star Ball was spotted wearing ankle braces during an offseason workout at the club’s facility this week. The move comes after Ball missed most of last season due to another ankle issue.

Ball is already an All-Star at 22, but his inability to stay healthy has gotten in the way of his progress through four NBA seasons. He broke his ankle in February 2023 and missed the rest of the 2022-23 season as a result. Ball then suffered a severe sprain of the same ankle last November, missed a month and a half, returned for a handful of games but never really got over it and was suspended for the year in January.

Ball, the former No. 3 overall pick, said a few months ago that he had never worn ankle braces up to this point in his NBA career because he had never found anything comfortable enough to play in. But it looks like Ball is finally giving it a serious try, which is good news for both him and the Hornets (considering the eye-watering amount they gave Ball in a contract extension last year).
