BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads, ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced that the club has signed defenseman Mike Vorlicky for the 2024-25 season.

Vorlicky, 24, is entering his first professional season after a five-year college career at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as team captain last season and ranked first on the club with a +17 rating. From 2019-2024, he played 125 games, scoring 21 points (4 goals, 17 assists) and helping the Badgers to the Big 10 regular season championship in 2020-21.

Prior to his college career, the Edina, Minnesota native played three seasons of high school hockey, helping the Edina Hornets to the 2019 Class 2A championship while being named to the Minnesota State High School Tournament All-Tournament Team and serving as team captain. In three seasons, he appeared in 73 games and recorded 43 points (7 goals, 36 assists). He made his United States Hockey League debut with the Madison Capitols at the end of the 2018-19 season, recording three assists in six games.
