Chris Cuomo is shocked as he “looks down” from the luxury suites of the corporations on the Democrat’s podium: “We are strangled by money”

Chris Cuomo had a moment of clarity at the Democratic National Convention when the NewsNation anchor launched into a fiery rant about the rise of the millions of corporations influencing the national election campaign, against the backdrop of their numerous luxury suites that “literally look down on the faithful.”

“A big theme here at the DNC is that they’re going to go after corporations,” Cuomo said. “We’ve heard the same thing from the RNC – they’re going after elites and the two sets of rules. But let me reveal to you a reality that needs to be addressed here, OK?”

The former CNN presenter then had his producer point the camera at the upper floors of the United Center, where he said luxury boxes were being sold for over a million dollars.

“There’s another reality that’s literally staring down on us,” Cuomo said. “Look at the suites. It’s not just the Democrats – this is about money. When people talk about the party, we’re strangled by money.”

Cuomo pointed out that in 2000, corporations spent $300 million on presidential campaigns. Twenty-four years later, that figure is likely to be as high as $10 billion.

“Do you believe there’s a group of teachers up there? Do you believe there’s the Cub Scouts of Columbia County, South Carolina, up there in those boxes? No,” a fiery Cuomo said. “Those boxes are filled with the same people they’re supposedly going to regulate. They’re literally looking down on the faithful.”

Cuomo pointed out that corporate tentacles have reached both sides of the aisle equally.

“The same goes for Republicans,” he said. “They say they’re going to overthrow them and change things? But they look down on the people who are making a difference in their communities. And that’s the reality of politics.”
