West Wilson from “Summer House” talks about the dating show with “Hawk Tuah Girl”

“Summer House” star West Wilson hosts a new dating show in which he courts female celebrities – including “Hawk Tuah Girl” Haliey Welch.

Wilson, who rose to fame as a fan favorite on the Bravo reality series before coming under fire for his split from co-star Ciara Miller, will challenge women to dating competitions on Complex’s YouTube show “West Date Ever” while also talking about being single in public.

“The dates are kind of gimmicky and cute, and there’s food and games and all that stuff. It’s just about getting to know more about them and seeing what it’s like to date one in the spotlight,” Wilson tells Page Six in an exclusive interview.

Wilson, 29, says the experience has helped him in his dating life because he can now understand “both the good and the bad” of his admirers.

“Nobody knows what the right thing is, and people are learning every day. I think that’s something I’ve noticed. … We think everyone knows exactly what they’re doing, but actually none of us know,” he admits.

The sportswriter explains that everyone he has met has gone through a lot of “trial and error” while “trying to figure things out and learn as they go.”

“I’m just excited to try something new, which I really enjoy doing, and I’m really excited about it and hope people like it,” he adds.

Wilson’s first date on the show involves him going fishing with Welch in Tennessee. Welch became an overnight sensation in June when he discussed oral sex in a viral TikTok video and coined the phrase “hawk tuah.”

“It was fun to go on a little date with Haliey. She was thrown into the spotlight almost against her will, so I wanted to make sure she knew I wasn’t there to hammer her viral meme into everyone’s head,” he tells us.

“Everyone has a story and I wanted to learn more about her and help her leave ‘Hawk Tuah’ behind, you know?”

Welch, 22, later said it was “one of her best dates” because Wilson is a “really nice guy” who “really wants to get to know you.”

Since his affair with 28-year-old Miller in season 8 of “Summer House,” Wilson has felt more comfortable dating on camera.

However, their relationship fell apart after production wrapped last year as Wilson struggled to balance his newfound fame with his love life.

Despite the series’ rocky reunion, which aired in June, it seems Wilson and Miller have been able to mend their friendship, as they are both currently filming Season 9 in the Hamptons.

“I’m always impressed by how natural things are. You always think it’s a big, weird thing in the house, but it’s just not. So, it’s great,” he tells us about the atmosphere in the cast’s shared apartment.

“West Date Ever” premieres Thursday at 12 p.m. ET on Complex’s YouTube channel.
