Pulp icons Green Hornet and Miss Fury work together for the first time – Comic book adaptations and news about superhero films

The Green Hornet And Miss Fury are two of the most iconic detective heroes of all time. Dynamite Entertainment has been publishing the serial adventures of both characters for many years. Now the two will work together for the first time in one medium, in a new miniseries by writers Alex Segura and Henry Barajas.

“I have a weakness for two things: writing pulp heroes that I read as a kid and working with my friends,” Segura said. “So when Dynamite approached me about taking on this series, I knew immediately who I wanted to work with. Henry and I have been brainstorming ideas for Green Hornet for some time, and this seemed like the perfect springboard to not only put the iconic hero in the spotlight, but also pit him against one of comics’ true classic heroines, Miss Fury.”

Miss Fury is the first superheroine created by a woman, the legendary June Tarpé Mills. Her adventures were detailed in a Sunday comic strip in the 1940s. Despite her popularity, she never made the leap to radio, television and cinema like Green Hornet. Nevertheless, she is still remembered as one of the defining heroines of the Golden Age of Comics.

Green Hornet/Miss Fury – a “Bronze Age style fun”

The Green Hornet/Miss Fury #1 is set in the midst of the Swinging Sixties, but the neo-noir spirit common to both characters is retained. The film will also feature the art of rising star artist Federico Sorressa.

As the story progresses, the two heroes discover they have an ally in their mentor, the Silver Shrike. However, when the Silver Shrike is found dead, Green Hornet and Miss Fury must put aside their differences to catch the killer. Unfortunately, their very different crime-fighting styles soon cause them to clash. Nevertheless, they must work together, especially after they uncover a conspiracy that threatens every “mask” in the world.

The Green Hornet/Miss Fury #1 will be released in all comic shops in November 2024.
