Piers Morgan criticizes Elon Musk for ‘all communities’ comment amid far-right unrest

Piers Morgan has sharply criticised Elon Musk for his inflammatory comments about the ongoing racial unrest in the UK.

Violent riots broke out across the country following the stabbing attacks on three young girls in Southport, following misinformation that the killer was a Muslim asylum seeker.

Hundreds of people were arrested and thousands of police officers were deployed to prepare for further actions throughout the week. At least one person was seriously injured as a result of racist and Islamophobic attacks, stabbings, street brawls and sieges of mosques.

The billionaire tech owner was accused of stoking unrest when he shared a video of a group of Asian men gathered in a Birmingham pub on Tuesday (6 August) on X/Twitter with the caption: “Why aren’t all communities protected in the UK?”

In the post, he tagged British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer after the Labour leader condemned actions against groups based on their race or religion and called for the protection of mosques.

Morgan rebuked Musk for the comment, saying, “Elon, a false report was posted that the triple child murderer was an illegal Muslim immigrant who came on a small boat and was on a terrorist list.

“This has led far-right rioters to attack Muslims and asylum seekers. I haven’t heard you mention/condemn any of this?”

Other broadcasters also criticized the news, with Channel 4’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy writing: “Would you like to do an interview on this?

“You’re making waves here in the UK at a very dangerous time. Anytime, anywhere. Live on @Channel4News and @X.”

Musk’s comments are part of an ongoing series of tweets to his 193 million followers on X. On Monday (5 August), he said that “civil war is inevitable” in the UK – comments that were criticised by Downing Street.

On Tuesday, he posted a series of tweets claiming that his website X was “Britain’s biggest news source,” while his own news stories repeated seemingly false claims.

Using the hashtag #twotierkier – a far-right claim used to justify the riots, suggesting that police are soft on left-wing and Islamic protesters but tough on far-right white working-class protesters – he appeared to repeat conspiracy theories, including an image comparing the treatment of three alleged rapists, suggesting the Muslim man escaped prison, but it turns out the man identified was not guilty of the crime he was accused of.

Musk also posted a picture of the main character from the adult cartoon Family man in the electric chair with the message: “In 2030 for making a Facebook comment that the British government didn’t like.”

Critics called for a travel ban for Musk, as commentator Nels Abbey, author of Think like a white persondemanded that Britain ban the Tesla owner from entering the country.

He said: “The UK has banned Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Ja Rule and Michael Savage for much less than inciting racial unrest and suggesting civil war in our country. Keir Starmer should ban Elon Musk from entering the UK and using our airspace.”
