What is the story

Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan have reached centuries in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

On the first day, Pakistan finished on 158/4 with only 41 overs available. Shakeel was unbeaten on 57 and Rizwan made 24.

Rizwan joined Shakeel when Pakistan were at 114/4. On the second day, both batters converted their respective starts into centuries to defeat Bangladesh.

Duo dominates the morning session

Both batters performed solidly in the first session of the second day. Bangladesh bowled 29 wicketless overs in which Pakistan scored 98 runs.

Rizwan (89*) and Shakeel (86*) extended their partnership to 142. Pakistan were 256 for 4 at lunch.

The two of them hit their tonnes in the second session. It is particularly noteworthy that they rotated the shot well and took advantage of opportunities on the edge.

3. Test barrel for Rizwan

Rizwan was the first to score a ton, reaching the milestone with a four after dismissing 143 deliveries. This is now his third Test century.

In his 31st match, Rizwan has over 1,700 runs at 43+. He has hit nine fifties besides three tons.

According to ESPNcricinfoIn four matches against Bangladesh, Rizwan averaged over 90 and scored nearly 200 runs.

Shakeel completes 1,000 test runs on the way to its barrel

On the first day, Shakeel scored 1,000 runs in Test cricket. In 11 matches, Shakeel currently has an average of over 68. Along with three tons, he also has six fifties.

This is Shakeel’s first appearance against the Tigers.

Notably, Shakeel has scored over 5,700 runs in FC cricket. He made his 20th century in the longest format.
