Many internet users are convinced that giant aliens have invaded a shopping mall in Miami, Florida, thanks to a video that went viral on social media.

The video shows a large police presence in response to what is described as some sort of alien invasion at the Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami.

So far, nothing has been made public except for a video of teenagers attacking each other.

But on TikTok, users sparked panic by claiming the video showed 2.5- to 3-meter-tall creatures roaming the mall, citing reports that apparently do not exist.

Other unconfirmed claims included sightings of black helicopters over the mall, giving the whole affair the appearance of a nefarious secret agency.

Mainstream media reports that several people called 911 and reported hearing gunshots in the mall.

After order was restored, Miami police said they arrested four people involved in a brawl involving a group of up to 50 teenagers throwing fireworks at each other.
