Psychologist and accomplice from Florida accused of human trafficking of 15-year-old girl

A licensed mental health counselor and her accomplice are accused of trafficking a 15-year-old girl for sex work.

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) said officers were called to the Aloft Hotel at 7600 SW 88 Street on August 18 for a dispute.

After an investigation, investigators became aware of a terrible situation.

The MDPD reported that on August 12, a 15-year-old girl was walking her dog in the hotel’s pool area when she was approached by 45-year-old Maria Ximena Duarte. Police said Duarte befriended the young girl and gained her trust by telling the victim she was a psychologist.

The victim told investigators that Duarte offered her drugs and alcohol and asked her to film sexual acts. The underage victim then told police she was forced to engage in sexual acts with an older man – 46-year-old Jason Mojica.
