Only the top 70 PGA professionals will be invited to play for the $100 million bonus prize money, of which the FedEx Cup winner will receive $25 million.

The FedEx Cup is a seasonal event in which golfers earn points based on their placement in each tournament. At the end of the regular season, the 70 players with the most points qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which consist of three tournaments:

TOUR members earn FedExCup points based on their performance in each tournament, with wins and top finishes given priority. The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs, which consist of three events with progressive cuts – the field is reduced to 70, 50 and finally 30 players.

The TOUR Championship has a unique format known as “FedEx Cup Starting Strokes,” where players begin the tournament in staggered order based on their finishes in the regular season FedEx Cup. The top-ranked player starts at 10 under par, second at 8 under par, third at 7 under par, and so on, down to the 30th player who starts at even par. The player with the lowest score relative to par at the TOUR Championship wins both the tournament and the FedEx Cup.
