Steve Ballmer’s Intuit Dome Club is allowed to serve alcohol until 4 a.m.

Jerry Buss would be jealous.

The legendary Lakers owner invented the Forum Club, an exclusive VIP zone in the stadium for LA’s celebrities during games and concerts. But like every other club in Los Angeles, alcohol sales were banned after 2 a.m., even during Showtime’s heyday.

Thanks to a bill that quietly passed the California State Senate last night, there will now likely be parties until 4 a.m. at an exclusive venue inside Steve Ballmer’s brand new Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

AB 3206, introduced by Assemblywoman Tina McKinnor, authorizes the “sale of alcoholic beverages between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on licensed premises in a fully enclosed arena with a seating capacity of 18,000 or more in the City of Inglewood.” These sales must take place “in a private area of the arena not exceeding 230 square meters during the hours immediately following a day on which the arena has hosted a sporting event, concert or other large-scale event or a private event not open to the public.”

Conveniently, the Intuit Dome seats 18,000. The Forum — also owned by Ballmer — seats only 17,500, so it can’t benefit from AB 3206’s benefits. And while nearby SoFi Stadium seats over 70,000 for Rams games and the like, it’s not a “fully enclosed arena” as required by AB 3206. That would literally make the Intuit Dome the only game in town that can legally sell alcohol after 2 a.m.

The bill still needs to be signed by Governor Gavin Newsom to go into effect.

“Our office does not typically comment on pending bills,” Izzy Gardon, a Newsom spokesperson, told Ashley Zavala, KCRA’s California Capitol correspondent. “The governor will evaluate the House proposal on its merits when it lands on his desk.”

The bill also still needs to be approved by the Inglewood City Council, but given McKinnor’s involvement and the pro-development stance the city has taken in recent years, that seems likely.

Deadline has reached out to representatives for the Clippers for comment and will update this story when comment is received.

The Dome made its debut last week with a show by Bruno Mars. The Clippers’ first home game of the preseason will be on October 14 against the Dallas Mavericks.
