Two men handcuffed and firearms stolen from vehicle at Trump rally in North Carolina
After a “safe and uneventful” Trump rally in Asheboro, North Carolina, two men were handcuffed and firearms were seized from their vehicles.
The suspect, Robert Castona Jr., was charged under NC General Statute 14-277.2, entitled “Weapons Prohibited in Parades, Etc.” for displaying a weapon in his vehicle.

The 79-year-old was allegedly involved in a road rage incident, according to Asheboro police, but did not “threaten anyone with an attack.”
In an earlier post on Facebook, Asheboro Police released a long list of prohibited items at the event, including drones and other unmanned aerial systems, explosives and firearms.
“Upon further investigation, officers determined that the incident appeared to be an incident of road rage, and although a weapon was displayed in the vehicle, it was not pointed at anyone,” Asheboro Police said in a press release obtained by Fox News Digital.

“In light of these facts, the requirements for a violation of North Carolina’s General Statutes relating to typical weapons offenses, assault offenses, or the state’s prohibition on communicating threats were not met.”
According to police, the “incident occurred outside the venue after the event had ended and attendees were leaving the premises.”
Officers assisting the Secret Service in monitoring the rally “immediately arrested the individual” and began investigating the incident, despite “rumors” that Castona Jr., 79, threatened someone at gunpoint.
