Troye Sivan stars in Gap’s Fall 2024 “Get Loose” campaign

Troye Sivan returns to his dance roots and captures all the feelings of a ’90s Gap commercial for the brand’s “Get Loose” campaign, released Wednesday (August 21).

The dance-heavy campaign reunites Sivan with Brazilian choreographer Sergio Reis – who choreographed Sivan’s “Rush” video last year – for a high-energy dance routine to Thundercat’s viral hit “Funny Thing,” photographed by Dan Martensen. Sivan and Norway-based dance troupe CDK Company perform the dance routine in baggy jeans from Gap’s Fall 2024 denim collection.

“Being part of the Gap campaign and wearing their jeans feels perfect,” the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter said in a statement. “Dancing has become an integral part of my life and gives me confidence and a sense of timeless cool. I am honored to be a part of something that embodies such effortless style and self-expression.”

The Australian recording star’s wardrobe for the campaign includes men’s baggy jeans in dark, sturdy denim, Gap’s white Supima relaxed tee, 90s-style loose cargo jeans in brown, a heavy zip-up hoodie and a corduroy jacket.

The dancers wear baggy, extra-baggy and horseshoe jeans from Gap’s women’s denim collection, as well as wide-leg jeans, baggy jeans and ’90s-style denim cargo pants for men, combined with Gap’s classic t-shirts, shirts and utility pieces.

Gap’s Fall 2024 denim collection is available online and in stores.

“This fall, we’re celebrating Gap’s 55-year heritage in denim with a collection of relaxed styles that allow for self-expression,” added Mark Breitbard, Gap President and CEO. “Our new campaign featuring Troye Sivan perfectly captures the spirit of this moment, with an attitude that celebrates the movement of our denim and presents fashion as entertainment.”

Sivan will next hit the road with Charli XCX on the Sweet Tour. The month-long tour kicks off on September 14 in Detroit.
