Netflix continues its offering of TV shows as video games with Squid Game: Unleashed, a playable adventure that puts you in the middle of the action based on the South Korean import phenomenon.

A new trailer has just been unveiled at Gamescon in Cologne, giving a taste of the playable versions of the life-and-death challenges that tracksuit-clad contestants will face on the show.

Of course, there’s also the popular Red Light, Green Light – the preview sees more nervous players being gunned down for moving – as well as other games that require players to dodge boulders and navigate dangerous mazes and other obstacles. Riches or death await, as a slogan seen during the preview indicates: “Sometimes you win, sometimes you die.”

“Developing games based on successful series and films is one of the most exciting opportunities we have at Netflix,” said Bill JacksonChief Creative Officer at Boss Fight, a Netflix game studio. “We are excited to offer fans a new way to experience Squid Game universe – one that combines the exciting action of the show with the thrilling excitement of gameplay.”

The game will be released soon, says the streaming service.
