Taylor Swift is a huge superstar by many standards.

At 34, she was already the most streamed artist on Spotify in 2023. She holds the record for most Grammys for Album of the Year. But her groundbreaking Epoch tour is a turning point in itself. The European leg of the tour ended on Tuesday 21 August with a sold-out show at Wembley Stadium. How many records has the multi-album, global tour set and broken so far?

It literally shook the earth

While the Swifties danced to “Shake It Off” in Seattle, WA on July 22 and 23, 2023, CNN reported that they caused seismic activity comparable to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale. Comparing it to a similar event, the “Beast Quake,” which occurred as Seattle Seahawks fans cheered a particularly epic touchdown, seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach told the network that “the quake was twice as strong as ‘Beast Quake.’ It was absolutely twice as strong.”

The opening night had more visitors than any other artist in the country

Glendale, Arizona was the scene of the first night of Erasand it broke Madonna’s 30-year-old record for most attendees. 69,000 people came to sing along to “All Too Well” while Madonna drew a crowd of 63,000, Capital FM reported. She repeatedly broke her own record throughout the tour.

The exact financial data of The Epoch Tour is still not public information, but Time has estimated that the shows will gross $2.165 billion. In case you’re curious, the second most successful tour is Elton John’s multi-year Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. That series of concerts grossed a measly $939 million (by comparison).
