Despite his name, there is no Spider-Man in Sony’s Spider-Man universe. The closest the shared universe came to this goal was when Madame WebThe final moments of included a glimpse of the future team of four Spider-Man-like heroines. However, since the film was a flop, there is very little chance that the characters will be able to fulfill their potential in the SSU. Venom: The Last DanceIt is not confirmed that Spider-Man will also make his SSU debut in the story. However, there are many elements related to the SSU film that could mean that the film finally delivers on the franchise’s biggest promise.

The Marvel films coming out in 2024 offer a variety of cinematic experiences – and also some confusion due to the changed dates of several parts.

The SSU has an interesting Spider-Man trend

The hero’s arrival has been hinted at for years

Although no version of Spider-Man has actually appeared in the SSU, there have been many different references to the character in the universe since 2020. Morbius was the first to do so, with the film having several connections to the hero. The first of these is a Spider-Man mural that appeared in the film’s first trailer. Interestingly, this was Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, although it was “Murderer” about it, apparently in reference to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, who is believed to have killed Mysterio. Without much explanation, Michael Keaton’s Vulture from the MCU appeared in Morbius.

Venom: Let there be carnage
The post-credits scene was the only time Spider-Man was shown visually in the SSU, with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker appearing on a television that Eddie and Venom are watching, despite it being footage from the MCU.

Madame Web had a lot of Spider-Man references. Peter Parker was even in the film in some capacity, as Emma Roberts played his pregnant mother Mary Parker. The MCU film hinted at the reveal of the baby’s name before ultimately keeping it as secret as possible, as obviously as possible. Adam Scott also played Ben Parker in Madame Webalso known as Uncle Ben, one of the most important characters in Spider-Man history. Kraven the HunterThe first trailer also featured a shot of spiders slowly crawling around Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven, another nod to Spider-Man without him ever making his debut.

Venom: The Last Dance could finally introduce Spider-Man to the SSU

The film could tie in with an MCU scene

Venom: The Last Dance could finally be the film that fulfills the SSU’s 4-year-old Spider-Man promise. The character already has a connection to the wall climber, as Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock was transported into the MCU thanks to Doctor Strange’s spell. Hardy appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s post-credits scene, where the character talks to a bartender and learns information about the history of the MCU and its heroes. At the end of the scene Eddie announces that maybe it’s time to find Spider-Manand the SSU’s final Venom film could continue that idea.

Eddie specifically said in his MCU cameo, “Maybe I should go to New York and talk to this Spider-Man.”

Since Hardy’s Venom was banned from the MCU, Venom: The Last Dance could follow the character as He returns to the SSU and decides to find the Peter Parker of his world. Eddie specifically said in his MCU cameo: “Maybe I should go to New York and talk to this Spider-Man.” Interestingly, the previous Venom films were set in San Francisco, but new Venom: The Last Dance Set photos and video show Eddie Brock in New York City. This strongly suggests that the SSU is finally arranging a meeting between Venom and Spider-Man.

Venom 3’s confusing MCU teaser sets up a repeat of the Marvel trailer trick

The first trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance” suggests that Eddie Brock’s third Sony film will tie in with the MCU. But maybe that’s just a bluff.

Could Tom Holland play the SSU Spider-Man?

Another actor could play a new Peter Parker

If Eddie Brock is in New York to find Peter Parker, then there are a few possibilities as to which actor could play Spider-Man in the SSU movie. Fans have long called for Andrew Garfield to be the SSU Spider-Man, which would make sense since his universe didn’t have Venom and is closest to the SSU in tone. However, since Hardy’s character only has connections to the MCU’s Spider-ManTom Holland could appear. Sony wouldn’t even have to link the film to the MCU’s Spider-Man stories and use Holland as a variant of its established Spider-Man.

This way, the SSU could get its Spider-Man and the MCU wouldn’t have to cross paths with the franchise for longer than the post-credits scenes already released. Venom: The Last Dance could include the debut of a new actor as Peter Parker of the SSU. There was Rumors that a younger version of Peter would appear in the filmand the first Venom: The Last Dance The trailer featured a boy who looks similar to the character, potentially giving a taste of a future for Spider-Man in the SSU if the teaser pans out.
