A Scottish teenager who died after falling from a sixth-floor balcony in Ibiza has been photographed for the first time.

Emma Ramsay from Hamilton was vacationing with friends in the San Antonio region on the party island when she fell from the balcony of the Vibra District hotel.

The tragedy occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident, but the 19-year-old law student was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to social media posts, the Strathclyde University student had spent a pleasant evening with friends at the Hï Ibiza nightclub just a few hours earlier.

There are numerous honours for the Scottish teenager, who was head girl at her secondary school, St John Ogilve High School.

Headteacher Lorna Lawson said: “We are shocked and saddened by the heartbreaking news of the sudden death of our former Head Girl Emma Ramsay.”

“Emma was an incredibly kind, hardworking, smart and talented student who contributed a lot to our school community.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Emma will be missed and she will forever hold a special place in our school.”

Girlfriend Paris Mcgoldrick added: “I don’t even know where to begin with how perfect our Emma was. I loved everything about you and always will.”

“Heaven just received the most beautiful angel they will ever receive and I am forever grateful to call you my friend. I will forever cherish the moments we shared together, Em.

“I love you forever, my girl. We will never forget you.”

Ella Redfearn shared a photo of herself and Emma sitting on the shore of a lake and wrote: “Rest in peace my girl. A real ray of sunshine and the kindest soul, you will be in my heart forever.”

Another friend, Kimberly Barrie, added: “Rest in peace my girl. Emma Ramsay, thank you for letting me know the purest and most beautiful soul. I love you forever.”

And Niamh Anderson added: “Our beautiful angel. I will forever be grateful to call you my friend. You will be forever young my girl, never goodbye, just see you later.”

“The greatest ray of sunshine on earth and the greatest blessing heaven ever received.”

The Foreign Ministry appears to be supporting Emma’s family.

A spokesman said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Spain and are in contact with local authorities.”

A spokesman for the Spanish Guardia Civil said: “I can confirm that a 19-year-old British tourist has died following a fall in a hotel in San Antonio, Ibiza.”
