Ranking Season 19, Episode 11:

11. Schumacher: First of all, I absolutely loved every act on this episode tonight, so good luck choosing your three acts, America! Last time I saw her, Schumacher wasn’t my cup of tea. Turns out this act is right up my alley after all – I loved it! I still think the Golden Buzzer for her in the first round was ridiculous, though.

10. Alex Sampson: Alex is a great singer and has a fun personality. Any other week I would immediately say “send him to the next round” when I hear this song, but this week is so jam-packed that it somehow sticks out less in my mind. The similarity to Shawn Mendes was made even clearer by an outfit that the artist would probably wear. I still think he has a huge chance of making it to the next round. Simon summed it up by saying that Alex was visibly nervous.

9. Brooke Bailey: She has a great voice that makes me so happy. Her audition was good, but this was incredible. Bonus points for suggesting that she could potentially be eliminated like Liv Warfieldan elimination I’m still not over. Of the solo singers tonight, she has the best chance of making it through to the next round. Howie and Simon weren’t as impressed, though, which could affect their voting base.

8. Bboy Samuka: This performance left me feeling happy and conflicted at the same time. Yes, he was great and rocked the stage like he does on a regular basis. However, I’m not entirely sure if it was as well received by the voting public as it was by the audience in the studio, judging by the reactions on social media.

7. Ashlee Montague: This performer loves what she does, which is bizarre considering she really risks getting seriously injured every time. The addition of fire was great and the ladder trick was terrifying. Will she make it to the next round? Probably not, but where else can you see a routine like that? Howie wasn’t that impressed.

6. AIR FOOT WORKS: When Howie was awarded the Golden Buzzer, my first thought was, “Well, AIRFOOTWORKS is probably going straight to the finals.” Howie is their biggest fan on the judges panel, after all. This performance was incredible and everyone agreed, including on social media. Simon and Howie argued over who got the Golden Buzzer credit, but either way… they might just be the best use of the Golden Buzzer in AGT history.

5. NiNi: To close out the night, NiNi rocked the AGT stage like only she can. In a weird way, she might be the coolest act of the season. I have no doubt that she could headline a Las Vegas show and be a huge star. Bonus points for having a great time doing it.

4. Legion: At the beginning of the episode, this performance was, as my friend described it, “en fuego.” This performance was not only worth a spot in the next round of the competition, but a spot in the finals. Since Howie had the Golden Buzzer, I figured there would be no repeat for them, but I didn’t expect him and Simon to not like it. Honestly, Heidi summed it up best when she said it was “muy caliente.” I still think they have a real chance of moving on, despite the two naysayers.

3. Young Min: This performance blew me away. I expected him to be good, but this was way better than his audition. The timing was perfect and the magic itself was something I had never seen before. He even lifted Simon and Howie’s spirits by turning their frowns into smiles. However, upon closer inspection, the camera revealed how the headband trick works… a spool that rolls up the headband. We’ll see him in the next round.

2. Biko’s Manna: This performance is pure joy. They never miss their mark and sound great. I’m still a little confused why the third member is there, but he’s so much fun to watch! Honestly, I’d love to see them in the finals.

1. Celestial elements: If any act this season has the most potential to be a huge hit in Las Vegas, it’s Sky Elements. Imagine what they can do in a large open-air auditorium or a huge theater! This performance was definitely the first of the night where I thought, “They’re definitely going to go to the next round!”
