With the XAG APC2 AutoPilot console, numerous agricultural machines can be operated with centimeter precision

Traditional farming methods require significant manual effort as operators must concentrate on driving in straight lines or keeping the correct track while working. This makes the task physically demanding and requires a high level of skill from machine operators. In addition, labor-intensive and long working hours during peak season can lead to fatigue, resulting in errors and crop damage. The repetitive nature of manual driving increases the use of production materials and fuel, which increases farming costs and affects yields.

Automatic guidance technology is key to overcoming these challenges and increasing agricultural productivity. However, currently many small and medium-sized farms cannot access this new technology due to the high initial investment costs, technical complexity and maintenance issues. The release of the APC2 AutoPilot Console is expected to lower the barriers to entry through its cost-effectiveness and ease of use.

The all-in-one design of the XAG APC2 integrates the RTK antenna, sensors and processors into one main unit, making it easy to install and maintain. This reduces the manufacturing and usage costs of the product and provides users with a more affordable choice. The APC2 is also equipped with IP67 waterproof and dustproof protection, making it more durable and reducing maintenance costs. With just one smartphone, users can control the agricultural machinery to achieve automatic route planning and enjoy new functions through OTA upgrades.

To achieve centimeter-level precision, the XAG APC2 is equipped with RTK navigation technology. It can deliver 2.5 cm accuracy for high-precision tasks such as seeding, ridge making and furrowing. This minimizes repetitive operations caused by farm machine driving errors and maximizes land utilization by avoiding cut-offs and overlaps. It also features IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensors that enable terrain compensation and maintain accuracy even on uneven terrain by detecting ground slope.

The XAG APC2 is designed for ease of use and can be effortlessly controlled via a smartphone. The XAG Autopilot app offers a variety of work profiles and practical functions for different farming needs. It enables operators to perform straight lines, curves, diagonal harrowing and other tasks on different terrains and field shapes precisely and easily. With one-click over-the-air (OTA) updates, new functions can be added seamlessly. In addition, generated path and plot information can be shared with XAG’s agricultural drones.

With the mission of advancing agriculture, XAG has been a pioneer in the agricultural sector for 11 years. Today, XAG has users in 63 countries and regions and has a product portfolio that includes agricultural drones, unmanned ground vehicles, remote sensing drones, autopilot consoles and smart irrigation systems.

As XAG introduces its APC2 AutoPilot console to a global audience, the company will continue to improve the performance, efficiency and usability of its products, encouraging wider adoption and use of agricultural automation technologies.
