Large flooring store files for bankruptcy! Is Yo

The home improvement market is declining, leading to a major retailer’s decision to file for bankruptcy and close over 90 stores, including 11 in Texas.

Customers should also be aware that gift card redemptions are limited, even if the nearest store is not affected by the closure.

LL Flooring, formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, announced its bankruptcy filing on Sunday.

The Virginia-based company said the bankruptcy proceedings give it the financial flexibility and time it needs to explore a possible sale.

While more than 300 LL Flooring stores remain open, special sales will take place in those closed until September, according to a letter to customers.

The 94 closures span 31 states, including the following locations in Texas:

  • Abilene, Texas
  • Arlington, Texas
  • College Station, Texas
  • Denton, Texas
  • Fort Worth, Texas
  • Houston Galleria, Texas
  • Katy, Texas
  • Killeen, Texas
  • McAllen, Texas
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • Sherman, Texas

The retailer has announced that both the stores being closed and the remaining stores will accept gift cards until September 3. After that date, gift cards will no longer be accepted anywhere due to the bankruptcy proceedings.

Please also note that gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
