What could have just been pre-rendered footage for trailers and early gameplays ended up becoming a reality. Black Myth: Wukong delivered amazing, groundbreaking graphics for video games. However, not only are the game’s visual effects outstanding, but it also offers engaging and satisfying gameplay and story. However, this doesn’t come at a price. Such technical advancements can bring problems in the form of FPS drops, crashes, memory errors, controller issues on PC, CPU overheating, or audio issues. Despite all this, the reception of the title is wonderful, with Steam categorizing it as “overwhelmingly positive.” However, some people aren’t so keen on the title. There is a trend of negative reviews in the reviews, pointing out the Denuvo that many fear, in addition to the performance issues mentioned earlier. Is there a chance that Game Science will remove it at some point?

Will Denuvo be removed from Black Myth Wukong?

It doesn’t take much to make gamers frown, but one word has a special meaning for many – Denuvo. This anti-tampering system, implemented in Black Myth: Wukong among others, is almost universally hated by gamers. Is there a chance that Game Science will pull it from production?

Surprisingly yes. But don’t get your hopes up too much, because the chances are rather slim. First, let’s analyze why developers choose Denuvo in the first place. The answer may come as a shock to some, but it’s not about preventing pirating games, but about making it very difficult for as long as possible, especially just before the premiere of a title. The biggest sales usually occur in the first weeks after the release of a production, and if it is not available to everyone for free, that is quite enough for the hype to take effect and encourage people to buy. After this period, of course, there are also sales, but usually they are significantly smaller than just before the initial debut and spread over time. In addition, they are often also associated with discounts.

Now comes Denuvo, which has proven successful many times in this very point. It takes pirates longer to crack a game, so initial sales remain unscathed. However, after some time, almost all titles are eventually hacked, which completely defeats the purpose of this anti-tampering software. Moreover, according to many gamers, the lack of Denuvo makes a production much more entertaining for illegitimate owners. Sometimes this is enough for developers to completely remove the software from their gameWe’ve seen it in titles like Ghostwire: Tokyo, Resident Evil Village, and Nier Replicant, to name a few.

Why is it so universally hated? There is an ongoing debate about the fact that Denuvo noticeably worsens game performance. Numerous tests have been conducted that seem to confirm this, but the developers of this software deny it.

In summary: Wukong ever removed Denuvo? Maybebut the developers have more pressing problems now, as the game still needs some more performance polishing. Adding to the major problems of this production is the fact that Steam also seems to have a Family Sharing feature. It seems that this is and will remain the only way to share experiences with others, as this title does not offer any co-op or multiplayer features.
