Ballet dancer seriously injured in hit-and-run accident in Midtown while riding bicycle
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man who traveled to the Bluff City to perform with Ballet Memphis will undergo months of physical therapy after being struck by a fleeing driver while riding his bike through Midtown over the weekend.
Noah Long moved to Memphis two weeks ago to play the lead role in Ballet Memphis’ “Dracula.”
He was struck in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Poplar and North Avalon Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver was in a black Ford Fiesta (model year 2018 or 2019) and was not found.
Long has made a miraculous recovery, but before he can dance again he will need to undergo surgery and months of physical therapy.
Action News 5 has interviewed Long’s sister and will also interview the woman who witnessed the hit-and-run accident.
She stayed with him for 30 minutes to make sure no one moved him. They met again at the hospital on Tuesday.
