Microsoft only adds new releases to Game Pass Standard after 12 months (or more)

In July, we wrote that Microsoft was raising Game Pass prices, removing the Game Pass console plan, and adding Game Pass Standard, which is cheaper but doesn’t include games on release day. But how long will you have to wait for the new games to appear in Standard? You won’t like the answer very much.

We know that

Microsoft answered this question as follows: “Some titles coming to Game Pass Ultimate (Day One or other titles) will not be immediately available on Game Pass Standard and may not be added to the library until later (this could take up to 12 months or more).”

So if you want to play Black Ops 6 for free, for example, you will have to wait until 2025.

We would like to remind you that Standard will be available in the coming months and will cost $15, so if you don’t need to play games on release day, this plan is for you as you will still get access to the library of hundreds of games. However, if you care about the games on release day, it is better to pay $5 and get the Ultimate plan.
