In short: Texas man pleads not guilty to taking …

A man from Texas is accused Photographing the private areas of an 8-year-old girl at the Teton County Carnival in late July, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

William Ewan Brennan IV, 41, made no further statements as attorney Rachel Weksler entered a not guilty plea to one count of attempted voyeurism at his arraignment in Teton County District Court.

Brennan, who has been free on bail since early August, appeared at the hearing via video link.

Teton County District Judge Melissa Owens scheduled Brennan’s jury trial for three days, beginning Jan. 6, but that is a tentative date because other cases may take precedence over this one.

The investigation began on July 26 at the Teton County Fairgrounds when a man told Jackson Police Cpl. Paul Jacobson that he had just seen another man shoot an “obviously underage” woman in the shorts, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

Later, Sergeant Kyle Foster of the Jackson Police Department found Brennan in line behind the same girl, who was about 7 or 8 years old, and observed Brennan pointing his phone with the camera app on under the girl’s shorts, the document states.

Brennan appeared surprised when police confronted him and reportedly asked, “Is this a crime?”

Brennan’s case is not yet closed.
