Madewell’s fall collection is full of cool shoes and bags

As much as I’d love to fill my closet with designer bags and shoes, I don’t have the budget for it, so when I want quality pieces that are on-trend yet timeless and won’t break the bank, I go to Madewell—and this fall, so does everyone else.

While Madewell is best known for its jeans, it’s the brand’s fall-ready shoes and accessories that the internet can’t get over; namely, the outfit-enhancing belts, the suede ballet flats and the studded leather bag that looks a lot like a $2,000 designer bag. The collection embodies cool-girl luxury—with buttery-soft leather and metal details that can instantly elevate an outfit—while still costing under $220.

As a former employee who knows how quickly the brand’s trendy accessories can sell out, I have a feeling this collection might not be in stock for long, so I’m buying it ASAP. Below, you’ll find the Madewell shoes and accessories I’ll be relying on this fall to make my wardrobe basics look more expensive, starting at $68.

The indispensable bucket tote

Madewell

I can’t open Instagram or TikTok without seeing one of Madewell’s studded bags, including the Essential Convertible Mini Bag and the Essential Bucket Tote, which is my personal favorite. This is a new take on the brand’s famous tote worn by Katie Holmes, and it’s been updated for fall with a mahogany-colored suede and an adjustable gold-studded strap. With the soft suede and hardware, this bag has an almost vintage look but still feels fresh; while boho bags of the past tended to be shapeless and covered in fringe, this one takes a more simple, timeless approach. Plus, owners of the bag swear by its quality, writing that it feels “so high-quality and incredibly crafted” that you’ll wear it for years.

The Essential Curve Shoulder Bag

Madewell

A casual, everyday take on the popular half-moon style, the Curve Bag features a slightly oversized design that can fit everything from tablets to water bottles. I really love that it’s casual enough for everyday wear, but still looks classy thanks to the 100% leather design and sleek gold hardware. And while I prefer it in this olive green hue, it also comes in four other fall colors that go with everything, including a brown and navy suede.

The oversized shopper bag

“Worn” designer bags may be in, but they still cost a fortune for a handbag that is almost to death. Instead, you can get that worn-in look for less (and new!) with Madewell’s oversized shopper bag. Made from grained leather, the bag has two shoulder straps, a casual design, and so much space that it can also be used as a weekender, according to the brand.

The Beverley Mary Jane Flat

Madewell

I already own the Beverley Mary Janes in black, but now I’ve got my eye on the newest style, which features an oxblood shade and crocodile-embossed leather. A deep purple is one of my favorite ways to add color to my fall wardrobe, while the crocodile-embossed leather looks really expensive. But just as importantly, these shoes are really comfortable, with cushioning and support you don’t usually find in flats.
