Prosecutor: Neo-Nazi broadcast threats to blow up Jewish hospitals via livestream

A perverted neo-Nazi threatened to blow up several Jewish hospitals and nursing homes in the city and on Long Island – and broadcast his tirades live on social media and Discord, federal prosecutors said.

Domagoj Patkovic, 31, of Oregon, called at least six Jewish hospitals and made anonymous bomb threats starting in May 2021 – using an anti-Semitic slur to tell hospital staff he wanted to kill all Jews, prosecutors said.

Patkovic is said to have said he placed bombs around the unnamed 13-story hospital in Queens, prompting a floor-by-floor search for explosives, according to an unsealed 23-count indictment.

Just minutes later, Patkovic allegedly made another profanity-laced threat against a nurse on duty at a hospice and retirement home with locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens – this time claiming that “your facility is full of bombs” and that Jews would “shoot up into the sky for Allah,” according to U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace.

Patkovic also called a local police officer who investigated a 911 call at one of the hospitals, prosecutors said – including a false bomb threat on Sept. 15, 2021, that forced a partial evacuation and lockdown of Northwell Health’s Long Island Jewish Valley Stream hospital.

In that case, Patkovic told the hospital’s operator that he had placed “C-4 in maintenance cabinets” — then called police and doubled down on his threat while disguising himself with the nickname “Abrahimavich,” court records show.

“I just called the hospital and demanded my fucking million dollars or I’m blowing up that fucking (insult) NEO bitch,” Patkovic reportedly told an NYPD 911 dispatcher after making the threat.

Federal prosecutors said Patkovic live-streamed his phone call with the NYPD call center via Discord and recorded his face.

According to prosecutors, Patkovic finally confessed in July 2023 to participating in swatting and bomb threats along with others – and at the same time identified himself in a photo from another incident by making the Nazi salute “Sieg Heil” over the unconscious corpse of a man.

According to court documents, prosecutors said Patkovic’s targeting of Jewish centers “reflected the defendant’s religious hostility toward Jews and his desire to act on the basis of that hostility.”

“As alleged, the defendant and his co-conspirators, motivated by their hatred of Jews, targeted Jewish hospitals and nursing homes in New York City and Long Island with fake bomb threats and needlessly endangered patients and staff by causing chaos and alarm,” Peace said in a statement.

“Our highest priority is to ensure that all members of our community are protected. We will use all tools at our disposal to pursue dangerous bomb threats and swatting schemes to the fullest extent possible under the law.”

Patkovic is accused of conspiracy to threaten to use explosives, conspiracy to transmit threatening letters and other charges.

If convicted, Patkovic faces up to 155 years in prison.

His first court date is scheduled for later Tuesday in Oregon.
