U.S. Marshals arrested 35-year-old Billy Lee Walton Jr., who was hiding in the floor of a trailer, which he entered through a trap door.

Walton was wanted by the Tennessee Department of Correction for parole violation.

In September 2016, Walton was convicted of attempted rape in the Circuit Court of Hardeman County, Tennessee. The court suspended his sentence and placed him on probation for 12 years.

On June 13, 2024, the Tennessee Highway Patrol charged Walton with reckless driving, violation of the Open Container of Alcohol Law, driving under the influence, driving with a revoked/suspended license, and manufacture/delivery/sale/possession of a controlled substance, all of which occurred in Madison County, Tennessee.

The court issued an arrest warrant for probation violation and the case was taken over by the U.S. Marshals’ Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson.

On August 19, Task Force Walton tracked to the Jackson Mobile Village on Highway 70 in Denmark, Tennessee.

Sheriff’s deputies and TDOC special agents searched the trailer and found Walton hiding under a carpet in a recess in the floor that was accessible through a trap door.

US Marshal Tyreece Miller said, “Someone created a pretty good hiding place, but it wasn’t good enough to fool the US Marshals Service.”

Walton was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Madison County Jail.
