Wonder brings fast-fine food hall to Somerset County

Upscale food hall Wonder plans its debut in Somerset County.

After entering into a deal to lease the entire space at 245 Route 22 in Green Brook, the company expects to open its 3,000-square-foot space by January 2025, according to Bussel Realty Corp. BRC is serving as the leasing and management agent for the property.

Wonder’s Fast Fine concept features a selection of renowned chefs and restaurants and allows customers to order from multiple restaurants at once and have food delivered, picked up or eat in.

Connor Vanderbeek, Vice President of BRC Retail Services, commented on the new tenant: “This is a great addition to the Green Brook market as Wonder continues to expand its presence throughout New Jersey.”

Billionaire entrepreneur Marc Lore founded Wonder in 2018. The company was based on mobile kitchens that served chef-prepared meals outside customers’ homes. Over the past year, it has pivoted to a concept focused on physical locations, offering options from restaurants it has licensing deals with.

Wonder has its research and development facility in Parsippany. Since 2023, the company has opened eight restaurants in New York City, six in New Jersey and one in Pennsylvania.

After Wonder secured $700 million in funding earlier this year, Lore said the new capital will enable the company to open 90 locations in the Northeast by the end of 2025.

According to Wonder’s website, the following new openings are planned in New Jersey for 2024:

The brand already has branches in Ledgewood, Hoboken, Springfield, Midland Park, Westfield and Cresskill.
