An Ohio teenager died a bizarre death when she left her house barefoot – nearly five years after her brother died of cancer at the age of 11.

First responders said Olivia Bright, 17, was electrocuted around 9 p.m. Sunday as she got into a mobile home in the yard near her family’s home in East Toledo.

According to WTOL, firefighters blamed faulty wiring on an empty lot in front of their home and the fact that the yard was still wet from a recent storm.

Bright was subsequently taken to a local hospital with burns to her right hand and cardiac arrest. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

However, her mother has doubts about the cause of death of her teenage daughter.

“All I know is that Toledo Edison released my power, they released my electrical,” Olivia’s mother, Kimberly Bright, told 13 ABC.

She also noted that police did not find any charred areas on the RV door because it had no power.

The family will now contact the coroner to find out the official cause of death.

“I just want to know how my daughter died. Those are the answers I want,” Kimberly said.

Meanwhile, the Brights are still reeling from the unexpected loss of the teenager, who was just months away from his 18th birthday.

They described Olivia as quite difficult, but overall a good child who was outspoken, loved music – especially Carrie Underwood – and was very popular.

“It’s hard,” Kimberly said of her daughter’s death. “Five and a half years ago, I buried my son Brandon. He was 11 years old. He died of glioblastoma.”

“Now I have to go and organize everything for my daughter Olivia.”

Olivia's death comes almost five years after the death of her brother Brandon, who died of brain cancer in 2019 at the age of eleven.

An online fundraiser has been set up to help the family prepare for the funeral. The statement reads: “This is extremely hard on our family as we lost her brother to brain cancer in 2019 at the age of 11.”

An obituary for Brandon states that he “enjoyed many things in life, especially Batman, NASCAR, wrestling, Fast & Furious, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kane Brown, Blake Shelton (and) monster trucks.”

Kimberly said she is now clinging to her other children and grandchildren to get through this difficult time.

“All I’m saying is, appreciate your children while they’re here,” she pleaded with other parents.

“Be there for your children, because they could be here today and gone tomorrow, like mine, and she was only 17.”
